Peter MadziakPeter Madziak is a Senior Consultant and Instructor with ObjectSharp. He is a technical leader with over 10 years experience helping development teams architect, design and develop large software projects. Peter's primary focus over the past few years has been on helping customers understand SOA (Service-oriented architecture), Workflow/BPM (Business Process Management), Web Services (both RESTful & WS-*), EDA (Event-driven architecture), and more importantly how all of these technologies and architectural styles can be reconciled into an architecture that aligns well with what the business needs.
As a SOA & BPM expert for ObjectSharp Consulting, Peter helps customers implement solutions using technologies such as: BizTalk Server 2006, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Workflow (WF), SQL Service Broker, and ASP.NET 2.0 Web Applications.
Current Projects
- Working with a Commodities Trading company to integrate their order management system with their Logistics Planning Application
- The solution is being developed using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services to front the two systems and Windows Workflow (WF) to realize the business process that coordinates their long-running work
- Working with a Marketing firm to re-architect a Travel Portal website that they build for their clients
- The solution is comprised of a RESTful service that uses LINQ to XML on the back end to homogenize all the data coming back from the various travel providers

- Worked an ISV to lay down an architectural vision for evolving their Merchandise Management solution from its current tiered architecture to a service-oriented architecture that more effectively integrates their Business Intelligence(BI) expertise
- Worked with an ISV to provide an architectural review of their "Trip Management" solution based on BizTalk 2006
- Regularly deliver ObjectSharp courses: Building Services Using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Building BizTalk Server 2006 Solutions Best Practices
- Presented at one of ObjectSharp's Software Management Roundtable(SMART) events on "Bridging SOA & BPM"
- Developed a new course for ObjectSharp on Building Services Using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
- Worked with a major Insurance Company to implement a Straight-through Processing (STP) solution that takes applications as they are received over the web and settles them on the backend Mainframe Administration system
- Working with a major ISV in the healthcare domain to enable their Professional Services Group to include consultation services on workflow/business process management solutions to Healthcare Institutions and Regional Healthcare Authorities. BizTalk 2006, SharePoint Services, and ASP.NET 2.0
- As Research Liaison for a Healthcare ISV, Peter has been engaged in ongoing work on Business Process Management/Workflow in Healthcare with researchers at University of Waterloo's Institute for Health Informatics
