ObjectSharp proudly unveiled its new resource portal for .NET developers today. The DevLounge, appropriately named, is a community-focused source of information where developers can easily--and freely--access important learning resources related to the Microsoft development suite. These include, but are not limited to, each of ObjectSharp's core practice areas:

  • .NET Development - ASP.NET, LINQ, Windows Communication Server (WCF), WindowsWorkflow (WF), Visual Studio 2008 and the .NET Framework 3.5
  • Business Process & Integration - BizTalk Server 2006
  • Portal & Collaboration - Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS)
  • Application Lifecycle Management - Visual Studio Team System
  • Rich Interactive Applications (RIA) - Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Microsoft Silverlight

The DevLounge presently contains videos, demos, technical articles, tools and downloads.  And over the next few months, ObjectSharp plans to expand the service offering to include podcasts, feature interviews, user group presentations, and webcasts.

ObjectSharp is the first developer training company in Canada to offer such a service. And at first glance, it does seem an odd endeavour. ObjectSharp Training Director, Rob Windsor, spoke candidly about the initiative. "ObjectSharp has always been very community focused. Our consultants run user groups; we speak at user groups, code camps and conferences; we man the experts areas at big Microsoft events; and we run our own community events like Visual Studio 2008 at the Movies," said Windsor, who is also a Microsoft MVP. "The DevLounge is simply a natural evolution in our company's commitment to the developer community."

This much is verified by the content. All DevLounge content is authored by ObjectSharp consultants, all of whom possess a real-world mastery of the products in their particular practice areas.  "It is this fact which will make the DevLounge such a valuable resource," continued Windsor, "The content is not only relevant; it is authored by pros who know. We didn't want to offer people just blogs and soundbites. We wanted people to have access to not a fraction of what we have learned over the years, but what we have learned. Period."

Whether you are a novice developer or a seasoned veteran, we encourage you to visit the DevLounge at http://www.objectsharp.com/devlounge/.
